Obama vows answers after arrest of Boston bombing suspect

President Barack Obama appears in the White House briefing room after police arrested the lone surviving suspect of the Boston Marathon bombings.

SOUNDBITE: (English) U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING:

"Obviously tonight there are still many unanswered questions. Among them: Why did young men who grew up and studied here as part of our communities and country resort to such violence? How did they plan and carry out these attacks, and did they receive any help? The families of those killed so senselessly deserve answers ."

He pledged that the United States would find out whether the two brothers suspected of carrying out the bombings had help.

SOUNDBITE: (English) U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING:

"We will determine what happened, we will investigate any associations that these terrorists may have had and we'll continue to do whatever we have to do to keep our people safe."

One suspect was killed in an overnight shootout with police.
