Kerry says there's been enough tough talk with North Korea

John Kerry meets with China's leaders in Beijing in his first trip to the country as US Secretary of State.

At the top of the agenda -- North Korea which has recently threatened nuclear war against the United States and South Korea.

Kerry and China's top diplomat, said both countries supported the goal of denuclearizing the Korean peninsula.

At a news conference Kerry said it's time to tone down the rhetoric.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) UNITED STATES SECRETARY OF STATE JOHN KERRY SAYING:

"We really want to focus people on the better alternative, and we don't want to get into threat for threat or some kind of confrontational language here - there has been enough of that."

Kerry declined to comment on what specifically China may do to push for a peaceful solution on North Korea, saying only that there were discussions of all possibilities.
