Victims in Argentina demand aid after Buenos Aires floods

The torrential rains have stopped, the flood waters have started to recede and the cleanup has begun in western Argentina.
Now the crisis shifts to public health and safety, with clean drinking water in short supply and thousands of people without power.
In the city of La Planta just south of the capital, the frustration was evident, as residents set up roadblocks, demanding more assistance.
(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) VILLA ELVIRA RESIDENT, VERONICA FLORES, SAYING:
"Nothing. We couldn't recuperate anything because everything is ruined. We have mattresses full of faecal matter because the sewer waters swept them up. So we need somebody to help us. We are going to block the road until they bring us the supplies necessary to continue working [in the reconstruction effort]."
In some areas the water rose nearly two metres and the wreckage was devastating.
These residents lost members of their families swept away in the floods.
