STATUES OF US - WHISKEY GIRL

PRESENTED BY TOM

Carved from the crotch of Zeus, this is a band originated with three people who met while picking apples for an Indian man for the good wage of $1.27 an hour (plus all the apples you can eat... 6 grown men now make up Statues Of Us with Mr. Al 'Icepick' Langford (lead guitar, bass) whose solos are so hot, he has to leave his guitar pick in the freezer. Johny 'Crow' McKiernan (rhythm guitar, ukulele, vocals) thinks - correctly - that 7/11 is the best thing since sliced bread. He also loves sliced bread. Andy 'Frizzy Stix' Frazer (Vocals, keys, guitar) was torn from the womb rapping much to the surprise of the Doctors. Speaking of Doctors, the trio are joined by cagefighter and part-time doctor Jeeban Das on the violin. Mike Morgan brings 96 years of experience and sex appeal to the bass while Dave 'The Octopus' Korosztos plays the drums like they are going out of fashion. They aren't.

The original trio met under the same roof in Vancouver - a roof that Icepick Al fell head first from eventually. They shared a common love of alcohol and senseless music that kept them entertained on cold Canadian nights in the orchard. After a year of freezing in the Rockies, starving around the USA and falling back into Europe, they recorded an EP under the masterful eye of Mixmaster Mike - world renowned Welsh Wizard of producing.
