Just a few months after US Republicans lost the presidential election, the party is looking for ways to re-brand their image because they are seen as out of touch by many young people and minority voters. The GOP is looking to a new generation of Conservatives who want to limit the size and scope of the government and who openly distance themselves from the party's old guard. Tea Party favourite Senator Rand Paul and his colleague Marco Rubio, a son of Cuban immigrants, were the stars of the first day of the Conservative Political Action Conference. Many believe Rubio is the party's best chance to retake the White House in 2016. The focus of the conference is to find new ways to package the party's core ideological values, including opposition to abortion and support for gun rights, as well as finding new messengers - even if the message remains the same.
