South African police arrested, to face murder charges

...Anger in South Africa...

Protesters shouted "police are dogs" outside this Johannesburg police station Friday.

That's where a man was found dead while in custody, after police dragged him handcuffed to the back of their moving truck.

And nearby, this is what they've been hoping for: the arrest of eight policemen now charged with the man's murder, says police investigator Kuki Mbeki.

"We have just arrested the eight members of the South African police service that are suspected of the crime. We are currently investigating a case of murder against all eight of them. We will keep them in custody until on Monday when they will have to appear in court."

But arrests are not enough for the family of the victim, 27-year old Mozambican taxi driver Mido Macio.

This relative wants justice.
