Closing arguments are expected Thursday in a bail hearing for Oscar Pistorius, the South African double amputee, who is currently being held in police custody on charges he murdered his girlfriend.

"Blade Runner" as he's known, arrived for a third day of hearings in Pretoria, South Africa.

Pistorius has been charged with pre-meditated murder for the shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steencamp at his home earlier this month.

Meanwhile, a police spokesman said early on Thursday that the lead detective in Oscar Pistorius' murder case is facing attempted murder charges for opening fire at a mini bus containing seven people.

Brigadier Neville Malila said Hilton Botha, who took the stand against Pistorius at a bail hearing on Wednesday is due to appear in court in May.

Although a bail decision for Pistorius may come by the end of this week, a trial could be several months away.

If convicted of premeditated murder, Pistorius faces life in jail.
