Portland Trailblazers versus Sacramento Kings Pick Prediction NBA Pro Basketball Preview 12-23-2012

The Portland Trailblazers will be on a back to back as they face the 8-18 Sacramento Kings in an NBA pro basketball game on Sunday night. Tip off time from Sacramento is scheduled for 9PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by the NBA League Pass Channel.

The NBA odds from this game will be out on Sunday afternoon as the status of Portland’s leading scorer LaMarcus Alderidge has yet to be determined. Aldridge rolled his ankle on Thursday night and was seen on crutching shortly after the game.

This will already be the third meeting between the Kings and Trailblazers. Each team has won and covered once at home. Trend: Portland Trailblazers are 5-1 to the under in their past six games.

Portland has now won five straight games. They are 4-9 away from the Rose Garden. Portland beats Phoenix at home last night 96-93 as a -4 ½ point favorite. After a bad start defensively the Trailblazers have allowed 94 points or less to five straight opponents. Leading scorer LaMarcus Aldridge returned to the lineup and scores 17 points and pulls down 8 boards. He had missed the past game with a sprained ankle. A little tricky spot for Portland as Adridge will assess his status in this back to back after suffering a sprain ankle.

Frustrations are beginning to mount the Sacramento Kings. They have lost six of their past seven games. Leading scorer and rebounder DeMarcus Cousins will serve a one game suspension issued by the organization. Cousins and Kings head coach Keith Smart had a heated verbal exchange with Cousins being sat down on Saturday. The team is 28th in scoring defense allowing nearly 102 points a game. Tyreke Evans is bothered by a sore knee and is unlikely to play on Sunday. The two top scorers of Sacramento will likely miss the game. The Kings are 7-7 at home.
