A Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train was derailed by a mudslide south of Everett in the northwestern U.S. state of Washington.

Seven carriages were pushed off the tracks by the mud.

The train was transporting packages of chemicals for fertilizer, cleaning supplies and disinfectant.

No injuries or deaths were reported, and there was no indication of environmental hazards related to the accident.

The tracks were closed for a 48 hour period to allow authorities to clear the rails.
