Brooklyn Nets Utah Jazz Pick Prediction NBA Pro Basketball Odds Preview 12-18-2012

The 13-12 Utah Jazz will travel to play the 8-5 Brooklyn Nets in an NBA pro basketball game on Tuesday night. Tip off time from Brooklyn is set for 7:30PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by the NBA League Pass Channel.

The current point spread from this NBA game has the home team Brooklyn Nets favored by -4 ½ points with an over under line of 193 ½ points. There has been no change in the line since it opened up a few hours ago.

Utah and Brooklyn met twice a season ago with Utah winning and covering the spread in both meetings home and away.

The Jazz are 4-10 on the road this season. They have lost two straight entering play on Tuesday. After a 15 point road defeat at Phoenix the Jazz returned home on Saturday on the back half of a back to back and are defeated 99-86 by the Memphis Grizzlies as a -2 point favorite. What suffers for Utah on the road is the play of their defense. They allow 103 points and 47% shooting on the highway this season.

The Nets are 13-10 playing at home on the year. The team has had some recent struggles with a five game losing streak early in the month. That was with Brook Lopez out with an ankle injury returned on Friday in the Nets win in overtime to Detroit. The next night the Nets are held to just 38% shooting in an 83-82 road defeat to the Chicago Bulls as a +4 ½ point underdog. Lopez makes a huge difference defensively for New Jersey with his ability to guard the paint with his giant wingspan.
