The Wave Muscat Sails To Victory in Extreme Sailing Series Championship

The Wave, Muscat sailed to victory in the Extreme Sailing Series championship in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday (December 9).
The Omani boat skippered by Briton Leigh McMillan took first place in a closely contested race by just 0.2 points.
Oman Air skippered by Morgan Larson finish in second place overall while French skipper Pierre came in third place.
Speaking from the finish line McMillan was already looking ahead to next year's competition which starts in Oman on March 5.
"Hopefully we can carry on as we set off this year and, you know, hopefully we can stick with the same team and move on," he said.
"Next year is obviously looking pretty exciting already, a bit of a break while we get the boats shipped over to Oman and then we can meet them over there at the end of January and start thinking about it again, getting fully stuck in. It's fantastic, I'm really happy."
The sixth year of the Extreme Sailing Series consisted of 209 races staged across seven venues and 11 months of global touring this year.
The 2013 venues and dates will be announced before the end of the year.
