The betting odds came out with the road club Atlanta Falcons favored by -3 ½ points with an over under line of 47 points. Early money has landed on the side of the home team Panthers as Atlanta is now favored by -3 points. The total has moved up a ½ point to a current line of 47 ½ points.

This will be the final regular season meeting on the year between these two division rivals. On September 30th it was the Falcons pulling out the 30-28 home win against the Panthers as a -7 point favorite. The total went over 48 points. Atlanta has won three straight to go to 11-1 on the season. Ryan has 22 touchdowns and 13 picks this season and completes 67% of his throws. Michael Turner ran for 83 yards on 12 carries with a touchdown. Atlanta allowed the Saints offense to produce 436 yards with 101 running the football on 23 carries. Atlanta is NFC South champions and holds the number one seed in the conference. They hold a 2 ½ game lead over the San Francisco 49ers for the top seed with just four games left to be played. Atlanta has tough games down the stretch with games against the Giants, Lions and Buccaneers to close out the regular season. Atlanta gives up yardage but not many points as the club surrender 19 points a game which is fifth best in the NFL.

The Panthers fall to 3-9 on the year after a 27-21 road defeat last week to the Kansas City Chiefs as a -5 ½ point betting favorite. The game ended over 41 points. On the season Cam Newton has 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on the season. He has not thrown a pick in his past three games. Carolina has shown to stop the pass this season as the club allows 219 yards per game ranking eighth in the league and they face a pass happy team in Atlanta on Sunday. The Panthers gave away the first meeting allowing a long Falcons drive late in the fourth quarter.
