The 8-9 Dallas Mavericks will hit the road to face Chris Paul and the 11-6 LA Clippers in an NBA pro basketball game on Wednesday night. Tip off time from Staples Center in LA is scheduled for 10:30PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by ESPN.

The current NBA odds has the home team LA Clippers favored by -8 ½ points with an over under of 199 points. When the odds came out a few hours ago the Clips were favored by -8 points and the total was 198 ½ points. We have seen a ½ point move on the Clippers and a ½ point move over the total.

The teams met three times during the lockout year a season ago and the Clippers won and covered two of the three games. Each team won and covered in their game on their home court. Trend: The under is 3-0 in their past three head to head meetings.

The Mavericks are just 2-6 straight up on the road this season. Prior to their 92-77 home win on Saturday to the Detroit Pistons the Mavericks lost both games on their road trip at Philadelphia and a 23 point loss at Chicago. They have lost three of their past four games with a 26 point home loss to the Lakers in that span. Dallas continues to play without Dirk Nowitzki who has no return date from his knee surgery.

The Clippers are 7-3 on their home court. After a four game losing streak the team has responded with three straight wins. They go into a tough place to play on Monday at Utah and come away with a 105-104 win as a -2 point road favorite as they stick the Jazz with their first road loss of the season. The Clippers overcame a 10 point deficit after three quarters in the win. Blake Griffin had 30 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Jamal Crawford had 20 points off the bench but made just 7 of 19 from the field in an inefficient night of shooting the basketball.
