Indiana Pacers versus LA Lakers Pick NBA Pro Basketball 11-27-2012

The 6-8 Indiana Pacers will be the road team as they face the 7-7 LA Lakers from NBA pro basketball action on Tuesday night.

Tip off time from Staples Center in LA is scheduled for 10:30PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by NBA League Pass Channel. The current NBA odds in this game has the home team LA Lakers favored by -7 ½ points with the over under lined at 197points. There has been no movement in the line since it opened up a few hours ago. Trend: Indiana Pacers are 3-0 to the over in their past three games.

During the lockout shortened year a season ago the teams met once with the Pacers pulling out the 98-96 home win as a +5 ½ point underdog. Eastern conference teams will find opportunities for wins against the Pistons, Wizards and Raptors. Indiana has piled up wins this season against those bad teams. They have struggled against good competition. Indiana shoots poorly as the make just 41% of their shots and average 91 points a game. They have not recovered from losing Danny Granger earlier this month to a left knee injury that will see him out of the lineup for at least another 2 ½ months. After wins against bad teams in the Hornets and Wizards the Pacers fell at home to San Antonio on Friday night 104-97 as a +4 ½ point underdog.

The Lakers finished their three game road trip losing two of the three games. They avoided a 0-3 trip by blowing out Dallas on Saturday 115-89 as a -1 ½ point road favorite. The points are more evenly distributed thus far under the D’Antoni system. Hard to say if it’s a good or bad thing right now when you have twin towers in Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol who can give you very high percentage shots around the bucket. Bench players seem to be taking a more impactful role on this team than ever before. This might be effective now in the regular season but could be their undoing in the playoffs where the defense is better by the opposition.
