Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash resigns amid new sexual abuse allegations

Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo, has resigned from Sesame Street amidst a new lawsuit accusing him of having sex with an underage boy. The accuser claims Clash had sex with him in 1993 - when he was 15.
Sesame Workshop released a statement saying that Clash has "concluded that he can no longer be effective in his job."
Clash's previous accuser recanted his allegations last week, changing his story to say that the two did have sex, but as consenting adults.
Clash had been on a leave of absence since that first lawsuit and had denied any wrongdoing from the start.
So far, he's had no comment on the new allegations.
