Syrian rebels capture air base

Flaming wreckage from a Syrian government helicopter in Damascus is shown in this latest video posted to a social media website. The video cannot be independently verified by Reuters.
It was just one of several attacks on military assets.
Plumes of smoke rise from this air base captured by rebel forces in Deir-al Zor, near Syria's border with Iraq.
Fighters could be seen surveying destroyed army tanks --- muttering "These are your tanks Bashar you dog."
There was no comment from the Syrian government about the status of the base.
Rebels have been trying to attack air bases in particular, in the hope of grounding some of Assad's air power.
