New Storm Hits Storm Ridden Areas

A new storm called Nor'easter is starting heading for the eastern United States and some New York residents are already evacuating.
(November 7) The hurricane-hit areas of Rockaway and Breezy Point, in Queens, New York, brace themselves for further damage. A new storm is rolling into the east coast and is already staring to leave its mark.
Streets began to flood again today, and sandbags were delivered to the coastal areas in expectation of more flooding.
After Hurricane Sandy killed 40 people in New York City last week, New York's Mayor ordered evacuations of low-lying, hard-hit areas. Among the evacuation zones are Rockaway and the south shore of Staten Island.
Parks and beaches were closed ahead of the storm, which pelted the Washington DC area with ice pellets earlier today.
AccuWeather reported the storm whipped up seas as high as 7.5 feet (2.3 meters) just 20 miles (30 km) from New York's JFK airport.
Authorities hurried to clear tens of thousands of tons of debris from Sandy amid fears it could produce deadly projectiles.
The new storm is threatening inland areas with powerful winds that could blow down trees and tree limbs weakened from Hurricane Sandy.The National Weather Service forecasts a wintry mix of rain and snow from northern Maryland to central New England.
Meanwhile New York city has already started to see signs that the storm is approaching. A white shower of snow started at roughly 2:00 pm and is adding water to the city's already wet streets.
According to FlightAware.com 770 flights have been canceled into and out of the New York area.
Thousands of people in the Northeast lost their homes due to Sandy and more than 621 thousand homes and businesses remain without power.
