Funerals of Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Jalil-ur-Rehman, who was gunned down on Saturday in Hyderabad,
Two people of Bohra community and MQM’s Jalil-ur-Rehman, who was former city nazim, were shot dead in an armed attack in Hyderabad late on Saturday.
Rehman was also joint sector in charge of the MQM. He was elected deputy nazim from UC-11 Hyderabad in 2005 and had also served as caretaker city nazim of Hyderabad.
Rehman’s funeral prayers were offered at Nishat Chowk. MQM MPAs Sohail Yousuf, Waseem Hussain, Zonal Incharge Sharif Khan, Zonal Committee members attended the funerals among a large number of party workers.
MQM leadership has condemned the murder and demanded of the government to ensure security of citizens and peace in the city.
Two brothers belonging to Bahra community also fell prey to the violence when armed miscreants opened fires in Hyderabad’s Bohri Bazar area, killing 25-year old Ghulam Murtaza and 35-year old Shabbir Ali.
The two brothers were also laid to rest today.
