A Los Angeles coroner has confirmed film-maker Tony Scott's death was suicide, caused by blunt force injuries and drowning. Preliminary autopsy results showed the director had small levels of an anti-depressant and a prescription sleep-aid in his system. It also said that Scott did not have any serious illnesses. The findings don't shed any light as to why he took his own life, jumping from a Los Angeles bridge in August.

The comedian and daytime talk show host was the 15th recipient of the award, which is given to comedians who've made an impact on American society.
