Tony Scott's autopsy report, Ellen DeGeneres' big honor

A Los Angeles coroner has confirmed film-maker Tony Scott's death was suicide, caused by blunt force injuries and drowning. Preliminary autopsy results showed the director had small levels of an anti-depressant and a prescription sleep-aid in his system. It also said that Scott did not have any serious illnesses. The findings don't shed any light as to why he took his own life, jumping from a Los Angeles bridge in August.

Ellen DeGeneres received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Monday (October 22). The comedian and daytime talk show host was the 15th recipient of the award, which is given to comedians who've made an impact on American society. Previous recipients have included Bill Cosby, Will Ferrell, and Tina Fey.

Bradley Cooper hit the red carpet in Beverly Hills for the 16th annual Hollywood Film Awards. Cooper won the best actor award for his performance in comedy-drama film "Silver Linings Playbook." He was joined by best actress winner Marion Cotillard, who won for her role as an amputee in "Rust and Bone."

Finally, Lady Gaga has told her fans that they can expect a new single next year ahead of her third album ARTPOP. There was speculation that Gaga would release new material before the end of 2012, but the singer tweeted that it won't come until sometime in 2013.
