U.S. Stocks Drop More Than 1 Percent on Poor Earnings

U.S. stocks fell on Tuesday after disappointing quarterly results from Dupont (DD.N), 3M (MMM.N), United Technologies (UTX.N) and UPS (UPS.N).
Global shares also fell after a series of weak U.S. corporate results and worries of a global economic slowdown as Spain still weighs on investors' hopes for a recovery.
The U.S. Federal Reserve's policy committee is set to begin the first day of a two-day meeting on interest rate policy on Tuesday.
