The weekend started with a washout between Auckland and Kolkata Knight Riders but fortunately the remaining four games survived the weather and the winners were Highveld Lions, Delhi Daredevils, Highveld Lions and Kolkata Knight Riders.

The game of the weekend was the dead rubber between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Faf du Plessis, Lasith Malinga and Dinesh Karthik were superb although Chennai won by six runs. The Lions' win over Yorkshire confirmed their place in the semi-finals and Yorkshire's exit, Delhi beat Perth to knock the Australians out and the final twist came when Kolkata smashed Titans to hand the Daredevils a lifeline and stop the Titans from booking their place in the knockout stage.

In the group stages, Auckland take on Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Titans and Perth Scorchers while Yorkshire come up against Chennai Super Kings, Highveld Lions, Mumbai Indians and Sydney Sixers.
