Behind the curtain: Rockettes at Radio City

The Rockettes are turning 85 this year and in honor of the dance troupe's legacy, Radio City Music Hall is taking fans on an exclusive tour behind the curtain.

The hour-long walking tours are taking place ahead of the annual Christmas Spectacular show.

"Our full stage is 144 feet across. We love to say it's wide enough for 36 high-kicking Rockettes."

Here's the studio where the girls rehearse.

The floor is marked with numbers, so that the women can practice and perfect that uniform kick-line.

And of course the tour wouldn't be complete without meeting a real Rockette.

Stephanie Madden is one of the seasoned dancers who will meet and greet fans in the backstage dressing room.

Guests can ask questions like: What does it take to be a Rockette?

"It takes talent. It takes motivation. It takes dedication."

And what's something fans would be surprised to know?

(SOUNDBITE) Stephanie Madden, Rockette, saying (English):

"One of our big secrets is that during the kick line, we actually don't touch, so we're linked up, but we are not touching when we do our kicks."

The Radio City Music Hall Rockettes Tour will run from October 22nd until the 24th.
