Hundreds of people including Buddhist monks march in Myanmar in protest against the sectarian violence between Muslims and Buddhists in Bangladesh.

Police in Bangladesh said hundreds of Muslims burned at least four Buddhist temples and 15 homes of practicing Buddhists in late September. The attacks came after a Facebook photo showed a burned Koran allegedly posted by a Buddhist man.

Now they are calling on the United States for help.

(SOUNDBITE) (Burmese) U THUMANA FROM DHAMMA UNIVERSITY SAYING:

"I have come to protest peacefully and make the violence against Buddhists known to the world. We are calling on America to help stop the violence."

The protest continued for several hours with no incidents with the majority of participants simply praying for peace.
