A Red, Red Rose - A poem by Robert Burns. About the poem - "My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose" is a 1794 song in Scots by Robert Burns based on traditional sources. The song is also referred to by the title My Love is Like A Red, Red Rose or Red, Red Rose and is often published as a poem. About the poet - Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796) fondly called by many names such as Rabbie Burns, Scotland's favourite son, the Ploughman Poet, Robden of Solway Firth, the Bard of Ayrshire and in Scotland as The Bard was a Scottish poet and a lyricist. He is regarded as a pioneer of the Romantic movement in Scotland. Along with making original compositions, Burns also collected folk songs from across Scotland, often revising or adapting them.
