The versatile Belgian started the season in superb form with a beastly performance in the opening game win over Manchester United.
The 24-year-old followed up his winning goal against the Red Devils with another in the 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
The defeat at West Brom was frustrating for both Fellaini and his side, but the Belgian was back on song as the Blues dominated against aNewcastleteam lucky to escapeGoodisonParkwith a point.
Fellaini, who was presented with his award at a TW Steel-sponsored gala dinner atLiverpool’s Hilton Hotel, said: “It is a nice feeling to win the award. August was a good month and the main thing is that the team has started well.
“The win against Manchester United was a game in which every single player performed very well and I was lucky enough to get the winner.
“That was a great feeling as it is not every day you score a winner against a big team like that.”
