Abstract Art Paintings
This video is part of a series of videos showing my abstract painting techniques including acrylic paintings.
Oil paintings constitute the majority of my art work although some are created using pencil and acrylic medium, starting with my earlier acrylic paintings from my secondary school art classes.
I love painting places where I have traveled. I use abstract painting techniques to portray these locations in North America, Europe (Venice, Paris and Florence), Thailand and several cities in Australia. I work from my own images of the spots I have gone to.
I similarly work from a selection of photos ranging from pets, animals, vacation images, flowers or a favorite object such as a peacock feather.
My abstract painting techniques are achieved with a painterly approach. I utilize coarse bristles and pallet knives to get a block-like stroke. I enjoy using a vibrant color pallet to create an energetic atmosphere in my abstract art paintings.
The style is able to be painted in photo-realism, expressionist, abstract or my personal style.
