CITGO Launches $60K Contest for Nonprofits; Diageo Reduces Carbon Footprint; Medtronic Trains for Responsible Supply Chain - CSR Minute for September 13, 2012

CITGO has launched its Fueling Good program for the fourth year. Non-profit organizations can enter the contest to win a share of $60,000 dollars in CITGO Gift Cards by submitting their stories. Up to 12 nonprofits will receive $5,000 dollars each to support their causes.

Diageo has reduced its carbon emissions by 9.4 percent over the last 12 months, according to its latest sustainability report. The alcoholic beverage firm has reduced emissions by 22 percent since its 2007 baseline, putting it on track to meet its 50 percent carbon reduction target by 2015.

All Medtronic sourcing personnel have completed Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition training designed to promote responsible practices throughout its global supply chain. The company has also completed E.I.C.C. self-assessment surveys at 17 Medtronic manufacturing facilities, and with ten key suppliers to identify potential risks.
