Clinton: "This video is disgusting and reprehensible"

Another U.S. embassy under attack --- this time in Yemen.

The scene outside the embassy -- after hundreds of demonstrators stormed the compound. Police used water cannons and tear gas to drive back the crowds.

SOUNDBITE: Protester in Yemen saying:

"We entered through the embassy gates and broke the door. If they repeat this a second time, we will enter a second time, until there are no ambassadors left in the Arab world - and no Americans either."

In Washington, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton addressed the film which has enflamed much of the middle east.

SOUNDBITE:U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton saying:

"To us, to me personally, this video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose to denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage."

And that it did ---- protesters set fire to a police car near the U.S. embassy in Egypt as fury over the film moved into its second day

SOUNDBITE: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton saying:

"Let me state very clearly, and I hope it is obvious that the U.S. government had absolutely nothing to do with this video."

While it's too early to tell whether the Clinton's denouncement of the film will be enough to stop the attacks --- the U.S. appears to be preparing for any number of scenarios.
