South-western China was still having aftershocks after of two 5.6 magnitude earthquakes hit on Friday.

Early reports said at least 50 people were killed and tens of thousands were forced to flee their homes.

State TV said 150 people were injured and authorities had evacuated more than 100,000 people from the area.

Buildings in many of China's less developed areas are often poorly built making them susceptible to earthquakes.
