After a gruesome shooting in south-eastern France, this house in Surrey, UK, has been identified as the home of the family who was killed.

French police found a girl aged about 4 alive in a car with the bodies of three adult relatives on a remote road in the French Alps.

The four year old had hidden for eight hours -unnoticed by police - under the legs of her dead mother and grandmother.

The postman who delivers mail in the area where the family of Iraqi descent lived described them as typical household.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) LOCAL POSTMAN, GARY STANDFORD, SAYING:

"They were, I would say, just a normal family. I never noticed anything unusual about them or anything, they just seemed polite, used to come out and say good morning and that was it. Nothing else."

Police discovered another dead man nearby who had been riding a bicycle, while a second girl aged around 8 found near the car was rushed to hospital with skull fractures.

Hearses arrived at the crime scene on Thursday to remove the bodies.
