Afghans in Pakistan fear return home

Nearly two million Afghan refugees living in Pakistan are waiting to find out whether they'll have to leave by the end of the year when their residency cards expire.

Islamabad says it won't forcefully repatriate people once the deadline is up, but isn't offering any assurances they can stay either.

For some Afghan refugees who have established lives in neighbouring Pakistan, the threat of return to Afghanistan, a nation many have not lived in for nearly three decades, is a fearful prospect as they would have to restart their lives in their homeland.

Al Jazeera's Imtiaz Tyab reports from Peshawar.
