Boxes of ammunition sit next to artillery in the Syrian city of Aleppo.

Footage, which could not be independantly verified by Reuters, appeared to show rebel fighters receiving a new supply of arms.

In the boxes shells and rocket propelled-grenades.

But rebels said they have no heavy weapons such as anti-aircraft or anti-tank missiles.

Armoured vehicles and tanks were also displayed - purportedly seized from the Syrian Army.

SOUNDBITE: REBEL SPOKESMAN IN ALEPPO PROVINCE, ALI BALLO, SAYING (Arabic):

"Regarding the tanks, we are fixing them so we can use them when we raid some places. We used them yesterday when we attacked the artillery base in the Zahraa area."

Rebels said their recent attacks included one on an air force intelligence base in Aleppo.

The city has seen weeks of fierce fighting between army troops and opposition fighters, trying to bring down the ruling government.
