China and the US have been competing against each other to see who wins the most Olympic medals for the past 10 years.

This year, China's Ye Shiwen performed fabulously in swimming, while Team America's Gabby Douglas ruled in women's gymnastics.
Those glorious moments been marred by gaffes in other events, chiefly match-fixing in women's badminton. China's Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang, Greysia Polii and Meiliana Jauhari of Indonesia, and South Koreans Jung Kyung Eun, Kim Ha Na, Ha Jung Eun and Kim Min Jung were expelled for throwing games to draw less challenging opponents in the next round of the round robin event.
