NASA sends 'anti-matter' experiment to space

On its 25th and last ever flight, Endeavour's six man crew will deliver a $2b science experiment to the International Space Station.

The experiment, called the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer, is over a decade old.

Trent Martin, the project's manager, told Al Jazeera, "Essentially what we're trying to do is map the cosmic rays that are coming and hitting the earth so that we can tell whats out there, what's in the universe."

The experiment will explore the meaning of 'anti-matter', and could enable humans to travel deeper into space than ever before.

Al Jazeera's Scott Heidler reports from NASA's Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.
