Dozens killed after string of Iraqi attacks

At least six people were killed and 15 others wounded in a string of car bomb attacks in the ethnically-mixed northern city of Kirkuk on Monday (July 23).

The first explosion targeted a police vehicle patrolling Te'ssin neighbourhood in central Kirkuk while other attacks targeted civilians.

The Kirkuk bombings were part of a wave of attacks on Monday that also included car bombs and suicide attacks that killed at least 50 people and wounded almost 150 others.

Last month at least 237 people were killed and 603 wounded in attacks, making it one of the bloodiest months since U.S. troops withdrew at the end of last year.
