Jordan MP Draws Gun During TV Show - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

The live television broadcast of a political debate in the Middle Eastern country of Jordan erupted into a physical altercation when one of the participants threw his shoe at the other and then pulled out a silver pistol from his waist. A Member of the Jordan Parliament, Mohammed Shawabka was on the show debating with political activist Mansour Sayf al-Din Murad on several issues including the uprising in Syria, when Murad accused Shawabka of being an agent for the Israeli Secret Service known as Mossad. Shawabka called Murad a “crook” and then proceeded to take off his shoe and throw it at Murad, who took cover behind his desk before Shawabka reached for his pistol and brandished it at Murad. The men then pushed each other and continued to hurl insults at one another, while the host tried to break them up.

Back in 2006, a debate in Tampa, Florida between a liberal county commissioner candidate and a Republican radio host turned ugly when, after a heated debate, the Republican threw a chair at the candidate.
