"We just wanted our music to be overwhelming, huge, anthemic and in-your-face. It was kind of a reaction to a lot of bands that are super minimalistis. We wanted to make an album that was hedonistic in its instrumentation and arrangements."

Video interview with Cullen Omori, Cameron Omori and Max Kakacek from the American indie rock band Smith Westerns. FaceCulture spoke to the brothers Omori and Kakacek about being broke, their smoke machine, the last six months, being busy, the difference between Europe and America, touring, hometown Chicago, midwestern conservative vibe, house parties, brotherhood, HoZac Records, basement, difference between Smith Westerns debut album and The Dye It Blonde era, having direction, their own sound, the importance of money, hard drives, studio, melodies of Max, hidonistic sound, no room for wholes, touring with other bands, watch and learn, obsession about song writing and writing the catchiest song with 1 chord.
