Snoop Dogg detained in Norway, Beckham will not play in Olympics

Snoop Dogg was reportedly detained by customs officials in Norway after trying to enter the country with marijuana and a large amount of cash. An unidentified officer said that the artist was carrying more cash than is legally allowed and was fined roughly 2,000 dollars for the violations.

Bad news for David Beckham. The soccer star has not been selected for Britain's Olympic squad. The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder was widely expected to be named as one of the three over-age players in the Under-23 squad for the London Games. Beckham will still be in the limelight, however. Various media outlets report that he will light the Olympic cauldron at the opening ceremony.

Alec Baldwin is headed to Broadway. The star is set to appear in "Orphans," due to open in spring of 2013. The play, which premiered in 1983, tells the story of two orphaned brothers who decide to kidnap a wealthy man.

Finally, Bruce Springsteen has been named the Grammy Awards 2013 MusiCares' Person of the Year. The Boss - who has won 20 Grammys - is being recognized for his accomplishments and charitable work. He'll receive the distinction on February 8, 2013, two days before the 55th annual awards.
