In Libya, US senator John McCain has become the first high profile American politician to visit rebel-controlled city of Benghazi.
McCain met the leaders of the anti-government forces.
He told Al Jazeera he wants the US to formally recognise the National Transitional Council as the authentic voice of the Libyan people.
