Roger Wolfe Kahn & His Orchestra, with Vocal Refrain (Franklyn Baur) – Calling, Victor 1927

NOTE: Franklyn Baur (1903—1950) was a popular vocal recording artist. He made hundreds of recordings for different recording companies. His first recording was for Victor in 1923. Baur recorded for Victor as a featured soloist, as a member of the Shannon Quartet (known as The Revelers after 1925), as one the vocalists for Nat Shilkret’s Orchestra, and, on occasion, for Paul Whiteman's orchestra. He also recorded for other labels, including Columbia, Brunswick, Banner, Puritan, Regal, often using pseudonyms. End of the Roaring 20s meant decline for his career. In 1931 he went to France to take voice lessons, yet in the years to follow, his name disappears from the record labels.
