How to get the best sound quality out of your vinyl records

A method I have been using for years with great success when transferring 33 and 45 Vinyl records to tape.
Old records tend to become a bit crackely when dust gets stuck in the grooves. I apply clean water carefully to the record grooves and run a dust buster at the same time which collects the latter.
