240 Volts LED pilot lamp -- project 4

Detailed step by step footage with diagrammes and electrical calculations of how to make these virtually unlimited life pilot or night lights for in your house.

This lamp is designed and rated for 240 Volts and runs at 12 milli Ampères and is constructed from an old B22 lampbase of a defective CFL lamp.
The led layout is up to youe own ideas, as long it fits safely in the fitting.
A great addition for at night, or use it as curiosety lamp to add a bit of character in your house or hallway.

As mains voltages are involved here work with precision and make a tidy job of the lamp.
The resistors run hand warm to the touch and should not be rated at a less power rating as shown in the explanation at the beginning of the video.

For 110 or 120 Volts and 25 Led's (3.3V) at 12 mA a resistor value of 3125 ohms is required.
Use 4 x 820 ohms 1 Watt resistors ( standard E 12 series)

This lamp has been in service for 12 hours a day with no faillures or loss of brightness.
