The royal barge was part of a 1,100 boat flotilla, which broke the Guinness world record for the number of boats in a procession.

Festivities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne include a 10,000-strong picnic and a star-studded rock concert featuring Elton John and Stevie Wonder. Pubs expect to sell 60 to 80 million extra pints during what is being called "ju-beer-lee weekend." The party will end with the Queen lighting the frst of an expected 4,500 beacons that will be lit around the world to celebrate the occasion.
