Dunking the TV in the bath

As mains voltages are involved it should not be attempted without appropiate PPE and electrical knowledge in place.

An old TV was dunked in a bath tub with water. The TV stopped working almost immediately. Although some signs of live can be briefly seen when in the water.

At 3:00 The CRT flashed briefly
At 4:40 Out of the water, something popped and current surged briefly to 40 Amps.

A check meter type Ferranti FM C=375 rev/kWh was connected to measure the consumption. Ammeter to measure the load. ( settled at about 8 Ampères )
