Chris Gayle smashed 13 huge sixes on his way to an unbeaten century as Bangalore beat Delhi Daredevils by 21 runs and Adam Gilchrist took four catches and scored 64 not out as Kings XI beat reigning champions Chennai Super Kings.

Plenty of Gayle sixes flew into the crowd as he struck 128 in 62 balls to further his lead at the top of the run-scoring charts and set more records in the process, Bangalore winning after scoring 215 for one.

Gilchrist was in fine form after he returned from injury and their win keeps them in contention for a play-off place although their hopes will be dashed should Bangalore win their final game.
