Evangelista vs. French billionaire over child support

She once famously said "I don't get out of bed for less than 10,000 (US) dollars" a day.

Now, former supermodel Linda Evangelista is said to be seeking a small fortune for her son.

She made headlines last month when it was reported she wanted 46,000 dollars a month in child support from her son's father, the billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault.

Her attorney said when the two met in court on Thursday (May 3) that the figure was inaccurate but the sum was "substantial".

Her lawyer also told the court that Pinault asked her to get an abortion, when she told him she was pregnant.

It's a charge he denies.

The French magnate is Chairman of multi-national holding company PPR, which owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, amongst others.

Pinault is currently married to actress Salma Hayek and the two have a daughter together.

Evangelista claims Pinault fathered her child during a brief relationship in 2006.

She's rejected his current offer of child support.

According to Pinault's lawyers, Evangelista says she needs more money for security guards, a driver and a 24-hour nanny.

The case will resume on Friday (May 4) and is expected to last four days.
