La Traviata | First extract from the live at Opera Royal de Wallonie in Liège

"La Traviata" is a turning point in the history of the Opera.
Indeed, in 1852, Verdi decided to put in music a contemporary topic and adapts "La Dame aux Camelias" by Alexandre Dumas son. This is a break with the traditions.
And especially the action involves no sublime "gestures" of the opera : no violent death, no suicide, no curse, no heroism.
The stunning vocal writing of this passionate role has attracted all the greatest divas.
The prestigious French soprano Annick Massis is a sublime Violeta, many times deeply touching and moving.
An exceptional voice as we like it today: strong and affecting.
