Thousands of people have protested across Egypt at what they claim is a bid to bring back deposed president Hosni Mubarak's old guard.
The Muslim Brotherhood called the rallies to voice anger that Mubarak's last prime minister, Ahmed Shafiq, is being allowed to stand in next month's presidential election.
