Rajasthani Gypsy Folk Music Version LANGA MANGANIAR
OLYMPIC HYMN “Celebrate Humanity !”
Song For The World : Hymn For The Universe
As part of THE OLYMPIC MUSIC MARATHON

Rajasthan ( India ), being the place where one can trace the roots of Flamenco, was where we looked for an unique version of THE OLYMPIC HYMN “Celebrate Humanity !”.

Clement ( who is an actor and playwrite ) took us on a musical journey and re-introduced us to Rajasthani Gypsy Folk Music LANGA MANGANIAR, as colourful as the clothes and turban they wear. During his more than 6 years stay in Rajasthan, Clement had arranged to put together a “Langa Manganiar Music Ensemble” and arrange for live concerts.

Nitin Hrsh of “Rhythm Of Rajasthan” arranged to get together Folk Musicians from around Barmer in Rajasthan, India, translate the lyrics into “Rajasthani Language” and record The Langa Manganiar Version of The Olympic Hymn “Celebrate Humanity !”.

This “Rajasthani LRanga Manganiar Version” and The Rajasthani Lyrics are based on Clement’s Arrangement for “Quawwali” and “Hindustani / Hindi”. Translation from the original English lyrics into Hindi / Hindustani was done by Dr. Mohan Govinda Limaye and Clement Alberts.

MUSIC INSTRUMENTS used in this version :
Sarangi ( Bow + String Instrument )

LANGA MANGANIAR : The style of music by the Rangas and Manganiars, the Gypsy Folk Groups form the Thar desert of Rajasthan, India.
