Keep America Beautiful Launches Great American Cleanup Campaign; International Society of Sustainability Professionals Offers Online Workshop

Keep America Beautiful has announced a goal of recruiting four million volunteers to support its Great American Cleanup 2012 initiative. That total is a quarter million more volunteers than last year’s number. The Great American Cleanup is the country’s largest community improvement movement, with more than 30,000 programs with 1,200 affiliates and participating organizations focused on waste reduction, recycling, beautification, and community greening. Keep America Beautiful has declared April 28th the first-ever “National Day of Action to support the call for volunteers.

The International Society of Sustainability Professionals will offer an online workshop in a four-week series of webinars throughout April. The workshop will focus on practical applications of systems thinking concepts, guiding participants through sustainability techniques and change processes, and including ideas about when and how to apply them successfully.
